Three decades of partnership, transformation, and community-led growth
ChildFund Japan (CFJ) partner communities in Cavite and Isabela recently celebrated an important milestone through ceremonies marking the successful transition of long-standing sponsorship programs after more than 30 years of partnership and child-focused development.
Held in festive and appreciative atmospheres, the gatherings reflected not an ending, but the continuation of a shared journey—highlighting communities that have grown stronger, more resilient, and increasingly capable of sustaining the gains achieved through years of collaboration.
CAVITE: Three Decades of Gratefulness and Shared Growth

The Cavite ceremony, themed “Three Decades of Gratefulness: Remembering the Past, Giving Honor to the Present, and Being Hopeful for the Future,” brought together children, families, community partners, former staff, and stakeholders in a celebration of shared achievements and lasting impact.
Former CFJ Philippine Office staff, former Center staff, and members of the Pag-asa Cooperative joined the event, reflecting the strong relationships and community structures nurtured through the program over the years.
Participants looked back on how sustained support contributed to improved access to education, stronger community participation, and increased confidence among children and families. Over three decades, the program supported more than 1,600 children and their families in Cavite through education, health, and community development initiatives.
The celebration also highlighted how communities continue to move forward with optimism and resilience, with many children now pursuing their education with greater confidence and motivation.
Isabela: 30 Years of Changing Lives

In Isabela, the ceremony carried the theme “30 Years of Changing Lives.” The event gathered CFJ staff, the Board Secretary of ChildFund Japan, local government representatives, partner schools, families, and community stakeholders, each representing an important part of a three-decade partnership in child wellbeing and community development.
The participation of local government units, partner institutions, and community members reflected the strong collaboration established throughout the years to support children and families.
One parent shared appreciation for the support extended to address the medical needs of a child in their family, emphasizing how timely assistance contributed to improved wellbeing and renewed hope for the future.
Stories shared during the event reflected how children have become more motivated in their studies and more confident in participating in school and community activities. For 30 years, the sponsorship program contributed to improved educational opportunities and child wellbeing for more than 1,500 children and families in Isabela.

A Legacy of Partnership and Employment

Across Cavite and Isabela, the presence of local government representatives, partner institutions, health professionals, cooperative leaders, former sponsored children, and former program staff underscored the strength of partnerships built over three decades.
The ceremonies highlighted a shared achievement: communities that have progressively strengthened their own systems, participation, and resilience through sustained collaboration and local ownership.
As reflected throughout the events, ChildFund Japan’s contribution extended beyond assistance by supporting long-term development and helping communities build stronger foundations for the future.
