Rez’s Journey of Resilience

Beyond academics, Rez gained confidence through disaster preparedness training and facilitation skills from small group sessions. His family also benefited from values formation sessions, fostering harmony and practical knowledge on disaster preparedness and environmental awareness.

Despite hardships, including his mother’s stroke and his father’s passing before his graduation, Rez persevered. As a Megumi scholar, he balanced academics with caring for his bedridden mother. His determination paid off—he graduated in criminology and recently passed the licensure exam. Now applying for a position at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, he is eager to serve his community.

Grateful to ChildFund Japan and his sponsors, Rez sees their support as life-changing. Inspired by their generosity, he hopes to give back by helping other disadvantaged children achieve their dreams. His story is a testament to resilience and the power of opportunity.
