The story of Jay Angelo Ramos, a former sponsored child, is one of resilience and hope. Despite their modest livelihood as farm laborers, his parents prioritized the education of both Jay Angelo and his younger sister.
Jay Angelo’s leadership skills emerged early in his life. During elementary school, he actively led activities for sponsored children (SC) and served as SC President in his community. In high school, he excelled academically, consistently ranking among the top students in his class. He also participated in various sports events and was an active member of sports clubs.
College brought new challenges for Jay Angelo, including financial and emotional struggles following his parents’ separation. He relocated to another province with his father and lived with his grandparents, who supported his college education. While helping his grandmother run a small store, he maintained close ties with his mother and sister, visiting them during holidays.

In his college years, Jay Angelo embraced his bisexual identity, proudly participating in a local Ms. Gay Pageant, which he won in 2019. By 2022, he had become a Mental Health Ambassador, advocating for mental health awareness among his peers. Pursuing his passion for agriculture, he graduated with honors in 2024 and is now seeking opportunities abroad in his field of study.
