Groundbreaking in Dipolog City

Groundbreaking Ceremonies at Pamansalan Eco-Tech & Bawing National High Scho

ChildFund Japan Philippine Branch is excited to share the launch of the Special School Project, aimed at improving educational facilities and addressing infrastructure needs in various schools. This initiative promises to create a more conducive and inclusive learning environment for a total of 2,287 learners and teachers, initially.

Bawing National High School

NDBRCFI Lanestin Development Center, one of ChildFund Japan’s project partners, is facilitating the renovation project at Bawing National High School. This project will upgrade two (2) classrooms and add one (1) comfort room and several handwashing stations.

As the only high school in Barangay Bawing, it serves 1,583 learners, playing a crucial role in the community. Currently, classrooms at Bawing National High School (BNHS) accommodate 50–55 students each, exceeding the Department of Education’s recommended ratio of 40–45 students per room.

Pamansalan Eco-Tech High School

At Pamansalan Eco-Tech High School, our partner MINRICE, Inc./Lihok Bata Development Center is establishing a Food Production Room. This facility will be used by students of the Food Processing Strand under the Technical-Vocational Livelihood Track.

Why These Projects Matter

Bawing National High School – the renovation will:

  • Mitigate overcrowding in classrooms, enhancing student health and academic performance.
  • Ensure a smooth transition for students progressing from primary to secondary education.
  • Support the broader educational needs of Barangay Bawing.

Pamansalan Eco-Tech High School  – the construction will:

  • Enable the effective implementation of the Food Processing Strand within the TVL Track.
  • Address the lack of infrastructure, improving the learning environment.
  • Ensure regulatory and safety compliance, aligning with industry standards.

These projects, which are expected to be completed in six months, are made possible through the generosity of our donor, the dedication of our partners, and the support of the local government and community. They are a testament to our commitment to creating better educational facilities and opportunities for Filipino students.

Stay tuned for more updates as the Special School Project progresses!
